
A college student was one of three people involved in a high-speed crash in Waltham on Monday, police said.
At 12:54 a.m. on Feb. 10, officers saw a white Volkswagen GTI and a black BMW M340XI speeding southbound on Crescent Street. Both vehicles crashed moments later into the properties at 395/397 and 403 Crescent Street, causing damage to the property and a utility pole, police said.
Three men then fled the scene on foot. A passenger in one of the cars was located and treated for minor injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen, an 18-year-old New Hampshire man, was arrested. WCVB identified him as Adam Devaney, a student at Lasell University.
He was charged with for possession of ammunition without an FID card, operating under the influence of liquor (first offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and speeding. He pleaded not guilty to all five charges, the news outlet reported.
The driver of the BMW was identified by police as a 19-year-old Burlington man. He was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage and speeding.
