WESTFIELD – Robert “Chico” Veronesi’s name is synonymous with sports in Westfield, especially basketball and softball.
Veronesi served the city as a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission starting in 1978 and was a proud participant in athletics until his death in 2022. Veronesi will be honored June 29 with the dedication of “Chico Field” at Whitney Playground off Shepard Street, at 10 a.m. The public is invited to attend.
