SPRINGFIELD — Days before Christmas, a nurse with the Caring Health Center in the midst of a mental health crisis was let go after she sent what she considered a playfully disgruntled text to a coworker, punctuated by a bomb emoji.
The coworker shared the text with leadership there, believing it was a credible threat. The Main Street building and other facilities were evacuated Dec. 23 over the matter, with police noting in the report that President and CEO Tania M. Barber and her staff were nervous over the situation.
