Cardinals rookie WR has bounce-back game; How other rookies fared in Week 2

After a less-than-stellar NFL debut, Marvin Harrison Jr. had a bounce-back game in the Arizona Cardinals’ 41-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

The wide receiver had four receptions for 130 yards with two touchdowns — a — in Week 2.

“Once Kyler scrambled to the right, I kind of felt that there was going to be nobody deep there, and obviously with Kyler and his ability to extend the play you always have to be ready,” Harrison told reporters after the game. “Just get open. Make sure he (Murray) can see you, first and foremost. Get open, find open space, and make yourself available.”

The performance comes after Harrison had just one reception on three targets for four yards against the Buffalo Bills.

The Cardinals now look to carry the momentum from Sunday’s win into Week 3 against the Detroit Lions — who will try to bounce back from a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Here’s a look at how other rookies fared in Week 2:

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams: 23-of-37, 174 yards, two interceptions; Five carries, 44 yards

The rookie quarterback was sacked seven times in Sunday’s loss to the Houston Texans. The Bears didn’t have many answers in terms of protecting the first-overall pick from Houston’s defense — an issue that’s plagued them over the last few seasons.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels: 23-of-29, 226 yards; 10 carries, 44 yards

The No. 2 overall pick got his first NFL win on Sunday despite not putting up a touchdown. Daniels missed one snap in the game after he got the wind knocked out of him, but didn’t let it slow him down en route to a win over the New York Giants.

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix: 20-of-35, 246 yards, 2 interceptions; Four carries, 25 yards

It was a tough day for Nix and the Broncos, who fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 and slip to 0-2 on the season. One of his interceptions came in the end zone on an errant throw that went into the hands of Cory Trice Jr. It marked the fourth interception for Nix in two games.

Chicago Bears WR Rome Odunze: Two carries, 33 yards

It was a rather quiet day for Odunze, but he was also dealing with an MCL sprain he suffered in Week 1 and missed two days of practice. He hasn’t had much of an opportunity for scoring chances with the Bears offensive line struggling and Caleb Williams throwing for fewer than 200 yards in Weeks 1 and 2.
