While local fire departments will be busy over the next few months issuing open burn permits, each department has its own policies to ensure the public’s safety during the season that begins Jan. 15 and ends May 1.
“People should remember to be responsible and respectful of their neighbors,” said Westfield Deputy Fire Chief Patrick Kane.
And like Kane, Granville Fire Department EMS Capt. Nate Sindland also said residents who pull burning permits need to follow the rules.
