The Bruins and Trent Frederic avoided going in front of an arbitrator Tuesday. The team and the 25-year-old restricted free-agent forward agreed on a two-year deal shortly before the hearing. It will pay Frederic $2.3 million per year.
Hockey Night in Canada’s Elliotte Friedman first reported the deal. The Bruins only remaining arbitration case now is with goalie Jeremy Swayman.

According to PuckPedia Frederic will get a $2.05 million salary and a $250,000 signing bonus for 2023-24 and a $2.3 million salary in 2024-25.
Frederic, who played mostly wing last year, will be in the lineup somewhere and could have a chance to compete for one of Boston’s vacant center positions. Pavel Zacha and Charlie Coyle are expected to be the Bruins’ top two centers and Morgan Geekie will likely be a third or fourth line center. Frederic, Patrick Brown and Jesper Boqvist are candidates for the other spot.
Frederic had career highs in goals (17), assists (14) and points (31) in 2022-23, his first season playing from Jim Montgomery.
