SOUTHWICK — The chair of the town’s Lake Management Committee said a new state law establishing a boater education program and requiring all boaters to earn a safety certificate to operate on the state’s waterways has been needed for years.
“It’s long overdue,” said Richard Grannells, the chair of the LMC. “It is definitely a step in the right direction.”
