BLANDFORD — A group of Blandford residents is currently collecting signatures on a petition entitled, “Petition to Protect Blandford’s Wildlife and Safety from Unsafe Solar and Battery Storage,” demanding that a special town meeting be called within 45 days with the Board of Health, Fire Department, Select Board and Zoning Board to halt several proposed solar arrays and lithium-ion battery energy storage systems (BESS).
“The petition is to trigger a special town meeting. We want all the boards together in one place to tell us what’s going on. There are a lot of unanswered questions,” said Lisa Bruno, one of the organizers and an abutter to one of the proposed projects.
