Bill Belichick, ex-Celtics among celebs in Game 2 crowd

BOSTON — New England sports stars past and present as well as a handful of famous entertainers were all in TD Garden to watch the Celtics and Mavericks in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

Bill Belichick developed a friendship with Brad Stevens when he was the Patriots coach. They sat together in the Celtics’ President’s suite.

They watched former Patriots special teams legend Matthew Slater honored for his community work. Current Patriots K.J. Osborn, Ja’Whaun Bentley and Deatrich Wise Jr. were all in the building too.

Three Bruins stars David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy and Jeremy Swayman were also in attendance.

As usual, there was quite a contingent of ex-Celtics cheering on their former team. Paul Pierce, who was sitting with short-time Celtic Shaquille O’Neal, drew an warm ovation when he was shown on the scoreboard. They were joined by for Boston players Sam Vincent, Glenn McDonald, Leon Powe, Dana Barros, M.L. Carr, Tacko Fall, Mal Graham, Kevin Stacom and Jason Terry, who played for both Boston and Dallas. Mavericks legend Sam Perkins was also in attendance.

Other sports figures in the crowd were: Massachusetts native and Olympic gold-medal winning gymnast Aly Raisman, Duke coach Jon Scheyer and Yuvraj Singh, a International Cricket Council ambassador.

Among the entertainers were: BIA, a rapper and songwriter who did a halftime concert, music producer Metro Boomin, rapper, songwriter and record producer Travis Scott and actor Chris Tucker.
