Berkshire County under a winter weather advisory Saturday

On Friday at 3:18 a.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid for Saturday between 1 a.m. and 1 p.m. for Berkshire County.

The weather service states, “Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around a light glaze to up to one tenth of an inch.”

“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible,” comments the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.”
