BELCHERTOWN — While more than 150 spectators enjoyed Living History Day at the Stone House Museum Saturday, some participants considered the day part of the celebrations leading to the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
While towns across New England are gearing up to celebrate the 2026 milestone — called the semiquincentennial of the founding of the United States — many don’t realize that colonists were agitating against English rule for years before.
