The National Weather Service issued a report at 7:17 a.m. on Tuesday for freezing rain until 10 a.m. for Northern Worcester as well as Franklin, Middlesex and Hampshire counties.
“Temperatures below freezing this morning across portions of northern MA will slowly rise to above freezing. There will be a time where rainfall could begin as spotty freezing rain along and north of the Mass Pike from Middlesex County west as it arrives across southern New England this morning. Temperatures are expected to be above freezing by 10 a.m. Motorists should remain alert for possible icing. Even trace amounts can cause significant impacts,” states the weather service.
