HOLYOKE — Beneath the bridge, beyond the train tracks and tucked behind dumpsters in shadowed alleyways hide some of Holyoke’s most vulnerable.

Within 10 minutes of scouring the city’s hidden corners, Dorothy Beben, a narcotics intervention officer and detective on Race Street, receives an urgent call to High Street regarding an overdose. With her is Josh Rivera, a community-based outreach recovery coach.
