Captain America is trading in his shield for a ring.
On Saturday, Massachusetts native Chris Evans married Portuguese actress Alba Baptista at a private Cape Cod estate, according to People magazine.
People confirmed that the former Sudbury resident, 42, and actress, 26, had been dating “for over a year and it’s serious” in November of 2022.
The wedding also welcomed former co-stars and friends of Evans like Robert Downey Jr. and his wife, Susan Downey, Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky and Jeremy Renner, John Krasinski and his wife, Emily Blunt, the outlet reported.
Despite the couples happy ending, fans of the former “Sexiest Man Alive” are not taking the news well. But the conversation online seems to be all in good fun.
“It’s a sad day for us chris evans girlies! happy for him BUT DAMN. should’ve been me,” one X user, formally know as Twitter, wrote on the app.
Another wrote “I’m happy for Chris Evans, but sad for me.”
The somber tone continued across the app.
“Love Chris Evans and Im glad he got married but I still sad that it wasn’t me 🙁 Especially since it was in Boston,” an X user said.
One even expressed their feelings — not about Evans — but his now wife.
“I don’t care for chris evans, it’s alba baptista im sad about,” an X user said.
