Assets of 4Run3 sold in auction as charities push to recoup funds

EAST LONGMEADOW — Everything from high-end running shoes and smart watches to a scotch tape dispenser were sold to the highest bidders Wednesday as merchandise and office supplies at 4Run3, Inc. in East Longmeadow were auctioned off.

The sale generated tens of thousands of dollars for New Valley Bank & Trust in Springfield, which holds the note for the business. But it’s unclear whether any of the money will go to charities owed more than $30,000 by 4Run3 Racing. Both organizations are owned by Timothy D. Murphy and Jill M. Murphy.
