TheaterWorks Hartford has announced its upcoming 40th season, which opens with the Pulitzer Prize winning “English” by Sanaz Toosi (which played Barrington Stage Company in 2023.) “Circus Fire,” the story of the 1944 Hartford Circus Fire, will have its world premiere in April, 2026. Jacques Lamarre writes the script, and it’s directed by Jared Mezzocchi (“Russian Troll Farm.”) Meghan Kennedy’s “The Counter,” follows the annual “Christmas on The Rocks.” Drew Lanmore’s “The Cannibals of McGower County” has its world premiere on the season, and there will be a summer musical to be announced.
