The Academy Regional Poetry Slam, April 5, at the Academy of Music in Northampton, brings together some of the most talented young poets from across the region. Featuring dynamic performances, powerful storytelling, and an electric atmosphere, this event highlights the next generation of spoken word artists in an unforgettable evening of creativity and expression. Hosted by spoken word artist Lyrical Faith, the participants are: Izaria Thomas, Springfield Honors Academy; Melanie Rivas, Springfield Conservatory of the Arts; Elias Vega, Maria Roblez, Thanisha Martinez, Samara Thadison, and Zilaij’a Lewis, Holyoke High School (Dean Campus); Adrianna Serrano-Rios, Holyoke High School (North Campus); Espin Santiago, Westfield High School, and Allyson Klement, Amherst Regional High School.
