“He’s been with us longer than anybody. He’s a seasoned veteran,” Reid said. “He caught me off guard then I had to go take care of business with him.”

It’s possible Kelce was unhappy Reid took him out of the game on the play Isiah Pacheco fumbled the ball and gave it back to the San Francisco 49ers. But at the end of the day, the Chiefs came away with the overtime win.

“I got the greatest coach this game has ever seen. He’s unbelievable,” Kelce told reporters after the game. “… He’s one of the best leaders of men I’ve ever seen in my life. He’s helped me a lot with channeling that emotion, channeling that passion. I owe my entire career to that guy. … I just love him.”

There’s clearly no love lost between the two, and it probably makes it easier to sweep things under the rug after the Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl.
