South Hadley – Andre K. Isaacs, chemistry professor and TikTok star, will be giving a lecture at Mount Holyoke College titled “Shifting the Paradigm of Science Education and Mentoring to Improve Belonging.” The event will be at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 28, in Hooker Auditorium in Clapp Laboratory on campus. The event is free and open to the public, and pizza and cookies will be served.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, educators face rapid technological advancements and shifting generational cultures as well as unprecedented challenges in sparking the curiosity of budding scientists. This seminar is dedicated to navigating these challenges with enthusiasm and compassion, as you explore innovative approaches to teaching that will empower the next generation of learners, with special attention to those from historically excluded groups. The focus extends beyond the conventional methods and embraces cutting-edge technologies and inclusive pedagogy to create an engaging and accessible learning environment.
