WESTFIELD — Calling it a “difficult decision,” Walgreens announced in late January it will close its store on Main Street on Feb. 26.
“When faced with the difficult decision to close a location, several factors are taken into account, including our existing footprint of stores, dynamics of the local market, and changes in the buying habits of our patients and customers, among other reasons,” the company said in a statement.
Its location on East Silver Street will remain open, which is less than three-quarters of a mile from the Main Street location, according to the company.
