Aaron Rodgers went to the New York Jets with the intention to win. It hasn’t really gone his way between tearing his Achilles on the first drive of his Jets debut in 2023 and being 3-7 through New York’s first 10 games of 2024.
But even though Rodgers has career-lows in yards per attempt (6.4) and touchdown-to-interception ratio (15-to-7), the 40-year-old still wants to play for the Jets in 2025.
“I think so, yeah,” Rodgers told reporters when asked if he wants to continue his playing career beyond this season.

It’s been a trying season for the Jets — who had Super Bowl goals coming into the campaign. They fired Robert Saleh five weeks into the year and named Jeff Ulbrich the interim coach. They traded for Davante Adams — Rodgers’ longtime favorite target while they were teammates with the Green Bay Packers — in hopes to spark the offense. But the Jets have fallen flat.
When Saleh was fired, there was plenty of speculation about whether Rodgers had anything to do with it. The quarterback denied as much on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Rodgers praised Ulbrich and revealed he wants to play for him until the end of his career.
“What Brick’s done, the way that we practice, I feel like there has been great changes. I feel like he’s done some really good things,” Rodgers said. “I think Brick is an NFL head coach, whether it’s here moving forward or down the line. I mean, he is a leader of men and I’ll stand by him.
“I’d love to play for him until the end. I have a lot of love and respect for him.”
