WORCESTER – Before Sunday’s WooSox 2024 season finale at Polar Park, the team held their first-ever Hall of Fame ceremony, inducting the inaugural class of WooSox hitting coach and Red Sox Hall of Famer Rich Gedman, the late Larry Lucchino, and former Worcester City Manager Ed Augustus.
The team unveiled permanent plaques with photos and biographies of the inducted members, situated between the concourse and the berm behind third base. The street, which was previously just referred to as the ‘fire lane,’ was reintroduced as ‘Lucchino Lane’ in honor of the late chairman of the WooSox.
