‘Hard to say’ if Joe Burrow will play in Week 3 after Bengals QB reinjured calf

The Bengals are 0-2 to start the season and things might have gotten harder for them for Week 3.

Quarterback Joe Burrow confirmed after Cincinnati’s Week 2 loss to the Baltimore Ravens that he re-aggravated the calf he injured in July during training camp. The injury came on the play before the Bengals’ last touchdown, and Burrow was seen walking gingerly with a slight limp

Burrow admitted he was sore and wasn’t sure how he’d feel over the next couple of days.

During his Monday press conference, Zac Taylor wouldn’t confirm whether Burrow would be active for the Bengals’ Week 3 “Monday Night Football” game against the Los Angeles Rams.

“That’s hard to say right now,” the coach told reporters, who added Burrow was still sore. “You know he did it really in one of the last three plays of the game probably. He’s just sore. We haven’t done anything on the field yet. … “We’ve got to hear what the doctors have to say before we start to assume anything. Once we get that information, we can figure out what we’re going to do.”

Cincinnati Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway reported that Burrow wasn’t wearing a boot in the locker on Monday, and didn’t have a noticeable limp.

Burrow’s had a slow start to the season, throwing for just 304 yards and two touchdowns through the first two games.
