How ex-Red Sox players are doing, including Xander Bogaerts’ Sept. surge

Former Red Sox players Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Ryan Brasier and Kiké Hernández celebrated their NL West title Saturday when the Dodgers beat the Mariners in 11 innings.

Nathan Eovaldi and the Rangers are fighting for an AL West title while Christian Vázquez and the Twins will soon clinch the AL Central. Minnesota’s magic number is six.

Xander Bogaerts, meanwhile, will miss the playoffs in his first year with the Padres. He hasn’t had a great season but he’s finishing strong. He’s 24-for-55 (.436) with three homers and seven doubles in 14 games in September.
