SPRINGFIELD — MGM Springfield reported earning $23.5 million in gaming revenues for August, an about $1.5 million increase over returns reported in August 2022.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission report issued Friday reveals gross gaming revenue at MGM Springfield was $5 million for table games and $18.4 million for slot machines. It shows a steady three-year increase in revenues for August.
The August 2022 results totaled nearly $22 million while those in August 2021 were $21.8 million, the Gaming Commission reported.
Statewide the commission reported that the three casinos, Plainridge Park, Encore Boston Harbor and MGM Springfield, generated about $97.9 million in August in gaming revenue. In addition, eight mobile or online sports wagering licenses generated $22.7 million.
The state received a total of $32.1 million in taxes from the $120.6 million in the total gaming receipts for this month. MGM Springfield alone paid out $5.8 million in taxes.
