After suffering a season-opening loss to Drury, the Greenfield boys basketball team bounced back four days later thanks to massive performances by Conner Bergeron and Grayson Thomas.
The Green Wave beat Brattleboro (Vt.), 82-67, on Tuesday night in a high-scoring affair.
Greenfield was powered by Thomas who had 32 points, and he scored 20 — including all four of his 3-pointers — in the second half. Scoring 30 isn’t new to Thomas, who poured in 31 in the Green Wave’s first contest.
Bergeron provided the Green Wave a spark with 20 points, and Gavin Arsenault had 16 points as well.
Brattleboro scored 20 points in the fourth to potentially induce a comeback, but the Green Wave scored a whopping 24 to best the Bears.
Greenfield improved to 1-1 and looks to get above .500 when it faces Hopkins Academy on Thursday at 7 p.m.
