Mass. police department searching for suspect after man found shot Tuesday night

Rockland police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man believed to be responsible for a shooting in the town Tuesday night.

Police were called to the area of Deering Square for a report of shots fired on Tuesday night, the department said in a Facebook post. Arriving officers found a man had been shot.

The suspect, a man dressed in all black, had fled the area by the time police arrived. Police searched the area for the man but could not find him. The shooting is believed to be a targeted attack, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident, including anyone who saw suspicious vehicles near Deering Square and Winding Way between 8 and 11 p.m. Tuesday, is urged to contact police at 781-871-3890.
