NEW YORK — Triston Casas is out of the lineup for the second straight game and Justin Turner is once again playing first base for the Red Sox as they try to finish off a series sweep Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
Casas was scratched from Saturday’s lineup with a tooth infection that required a hospital visit, necessitating a return to the field for Turner, who had not played defense since July 30 as he plays through a bone bruise in his left heel. The Red Sox have been trying to keep Turner off his feet but have no choice but to play him in the field with no other natural first baseman on the roster. Pablo Reyes remains the emergency option if Turner can’t play.

Sox manager Alex Cora said Casas may return to the lineup Monday in Houston. Turner will likely get the day off after playing in the field twice in a row.
“He has an appointment tomorrow in Houston. If everything goes well and he feels good, he should play tomorrow.”
Elsewhere in the lineup, Trevor Story returns for the Red Sox after sitting Saturday. Cora dropped Story, who is 0-for-16 so far on the road trip, to the No. 7 spot in the lineup. It’s the lowest he has been since returning from the injured list.
Masataka Yoshida is the designated hitter with Adam Duvall starting in center field and Jarren Duran shifting to left. Pablo Reyes is at second base and Reese McGuire is catching opener Josh Winckowski, who is expected to go one inning before Cora turns to a bulk reliever (either Nick Pivetta or Chris Murphy).
First pitch is at 1:35 p.m. ET.
