The WNBA Playoffs are right around the corner, and on Sunday, Aug. 31, the Indiana Fever take on the Golden State Valkyries in a game with massive playoff implications, taking place at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
The game is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on NBA TV and FanDuel Sports Network Indiana. Fans looking to watch this WNBA game can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial. FuboTV offers up to $30 off your first month. SlingTV doesn’t offer a free trial but has promotional offers available.
The Fever are sixth in the league standings at 21-18, only percentage points ahead of the Seattle Storm because Indiana has played two fewer games so far, and half a game ahead of the 20-18 Valkyries.
The Los Angeles Sparks are the only team on the outside of the playoffs currently that is still fighting for a spot. The Sparks own the tiebreaker over the Fever, but lost the tiebreaker to Golden State.
The Valkyries also own the tiebreaker on Indiana thanks to an 88-77 win in their first meeting on Juneteenth, and then an 80-61 win a few weeks later in July. In that second meeting, Veronica Burton posted a game-high 21 points while Kelsey Mitchell had a team-high 12 for the Fever. That game also featured Caitlin Clark, and it was the last time Indiana lost with her in the lineup this season as the squad won the next three games she played before she re-aggravated her groin injury from earlier in the season that has now kept her out of action for a month and a half.
