28-year-old Worcester man killed after fiery Mass. Turnpike crash

A crash on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Warren on Thursday night led to the death of a Worcester man, according to State Police.

Christian Sherrow, 28, was determined dead on the scene of a crash, police reported.

At 9:23 p.m., police were called to a two-vehicle crash on the Turnpike in the eastbound lane in Warren. A preliminary investigation found that a 2021 Subura Outback driven by Sherrow struck the rear of a tractor-trailer and then caught fire.

A news release by police described the Outback as traveling “at a high rate of speed” before it struck the back of the tractor-trailer, causing the car to be wedged under the trailer.

The tractor-trailer driver was reported not injured. All lanes were closed on Route 90 — also known as the Turnpike — for about an hour to clean up the scene. The crash was cleared by 2:20 a.m., according to the news release.

State Police are continuing to investigate the crash with both crime scene and crash recreation teams.
