A Massachusetts State Police trooper is in critical condition after being struck by a motorcyclist in a hit-and-run crash in Revere Monday afternoon, according to State Police.
The motorcyclist struck the trooper shortly before 5 p.m. outside the State Police Barracks on Revere Beach Boulevard, State Police said. The trooper was “propelled” 45 feet as a result of the collision.
The motorcyclist ran away from the scene, but two suspects had been arrested in connection with the crash by 9 p.m. Monday, State Police said. Paramedics took the trooper to a Boston hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect was riding a stolen motorcycle at the time of the crash, State Police said. State and local law enforcement agencies were still actively searching for the motorcyclist Monday evening.
State Police asked that anyone with information about the suspect or crash call the department’s Revere Barracks at 781-284-0038. No further information — including the trooper’s or suspects’ identities — has been released.
