A U.S. Army veteran and father who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Cape Cod late last month is being remembered for his “unwavering dedication to service.”

Tallahassee, Florida, resident Timothy Duval, 24, was on vacation when he was struck by a car on Ocean View Drive in Wellfleet on May 24, Wellfleet police said previously. Police and firefighters responded to a report of a person lying in the road shortly before 11:40 p.m. and found Duval’s body in the roadway.

Duval was declared dead at the scene, police said. No arrests have been announced in connection with his death.

Timothy “Tim” Charles Duval Jr. was born on Sept. 29, 2000, in Salisbury, Maryland, according to his obituary. He served his country with distinction during four years of active duty in the U.S. Army while stationed at Fort Benning in Georgia.

“His commitment continued in the Army Reserve, showcasing his unwavering dedication to service,” his obituary reads.

For the past two years, Duval worked as an electrician who dealt directly with power lines, according to his obituary.

“He was known for fearlessly chasing storms across the country, never settling in one place for too long,” his obituary reads.

Duval was an avid pool player, a hunter and a fisherman, according to his obituary.

“He had a love for all music, blasting the radio in his truck with the windows down, dancing and yelling the lyrics without a care in the world,” his obituary reads.

Duval also had a passion for motorcycling, according to his obituary. He “relished the freedom of the open road” and was known to ride it to locations where he could sit peacefully by the ocean and reflect.

In 2020, Duval married his wife, Angeliki “Kiki” Lampadarios, according to his obituary. He and his wife had a son, Waylon Thomas DuVal, three years ago.

“Above all, he was a devoted father, cherishing moments spent with his son and never missing an opportunity to connect through their regular FaceTime chats,” his obituary reads.

In addition to his wife and son, Duval leaves behind his father, Timothy Charles Duval Sr., his sisters, Ashley Taylor and Gabriella Duval, and many other beloved friends and family members, according to his obituary.

“His life was one of enduring energy and passion, defined by his love for his family, his country and the great outdoors,” his obituary reads.
