A Waltham man is wanted in connection with the killing of Sheldon Jules, who was shot dead in May, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
Josh Pierre, 21, of Waltham, has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm in connection with the fatal shooting of Jules on May 22 at 1:29 a.m. on Lyman Street in the area of Faneuil Road in Waltham, said a press release from the DA’s office.
After the shooting, investigators determined Pierre and other people were in a vehicle together when they travelled to Waltham to meet Jules, said the DA’s office. After a brief exchange, Pierre is accused of firing several times, hitting Jules twice from behind and then leaving.
Pierre is described as a Black man who’s 5 feet 4 inches tall with black hair, brown eyes, and weighs about 150 pounds, according to the press release.
He was last seen in a 2016 silver Honda Accord with Mass. registration 2XGH85.
The DA’s office said Pierre should be “considered armed and dangerous,” and that “members of the public should not approach him and should immediately call police.”
Police have also arrested another person who was accused of being in the vehicle during the shooting.
Friday morning, police arrested Strawensky Cebeat, 21, of Waltham, on charges of accessory after the fact to murder and withholding evidence from a criminal proceeding. He was arraigned Friday morning in Waltham District Court and held in lieu of posting $50,000 cash bail, plus other conditions of pretrial release, said the DA’s office.
If anyone has information about Pierre’s whereabouts, the DA’s office says they should contact Christopher Murgo with the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office at 781-897-6609 or Waltham Police Detectives at 781-314-3550.
