Southwick on track to spend annual average for snow and ice removal

SOUTHWICK – With a few more weeks of cold and snow weather still ahead, the DPW is on track to spend its annual average of $296,000 for snow and ice removal.

“The town’s total spent on winter road maintenance to date is approximately $240,000 and that includes the most recent storms last week,” said DPW Director Randy Brown Friday.

That $240,000 covers overtime for the 12 DPW crews, 21 private contractors and salt to keep the town’s 90 miles of roads, streets and highways clear, Brown said.
