Winner of $1M Powerball prize picks ‘7-Eleven’ and race car numbers for her winning ticket

A $1 million lottery winner from Massachusetts, one of three who won their prizes during the Powerball drawing for $1.07 billion on July 19, said they picked their winning numbers based off the “7-Eleven” convenience store and also used race car numbers, the lottery said.

Rae Ann Wentworth-Cadieux, a Hadley woman, claimed her $1 million prize from the $1 billion drawing on July 21. Wentworth-Cadieux told the lottery she’d chosen the numbers 7 and 11 for the name of the convenience store chain, and used race car numbers for the remaining three.

The winning numbers for the drawing were 7, 10, 11, 13, 24 and Powerball: 24. Wentworth-Cadieux won her $1 million by matching all five numbers on her ticket, but did not match the Powerball number.

The Hadley woman said she wants to use the winnings to buy a summer home, the lottery said. Wentworth-Cadieux bought her winning ticket at a Pride Station & Store located at 445 Russell St. in her hometown. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

One of the three $1 million Powerball tickets won in Massachusetts during the $1 billion drawing still has yet to be claimed as of July 25; this winning ticket was sold at a Gulf and Global Montello station at 821 Main St. in Waltham.
