Tom Brady references Super Bowl LII nightmare during Eagles-Commanders game

Tom Brady and Nick Foles were both in attendance at the NFC Championship Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders.

After a commercial break, FOX cameras showed Foles — the former Eagles quarterback — watching the game when Kevin Burkhardt saw his opportunity to bring up another Foles-Brady memory to his broadcast partner.

“Nick Foles in the building,” Burkhardt said. “Super Bowl MVP that led to that Super Bowl win. Who did he play in that game? Do you know who he played that game?”

Brady replied: “Nick, I don’t hate you. I’m just jealous of you. You caught it, I didn’t.”

The New England Patriots fell to the Eagles in Super Bowl LII in a game that Foles completed a trick play and Brady didn’t.

Brady handed the ball off to James White in the second quarter who lateraled it to Danny Amendola who threw it down the sidelines to a wide-open Brady. But the quarterback didn’t catch the ball.

The Eagles tried their own trick play — the “Philly Special” — in the fourth quarter when Foles caught a pass from Trey Burton for a touchdown.

Philadelphia won, 41-33, despite Brady throwing for three touchdowns and 505 yards.
