Dense fog advisory for 8 Massachusetts counties until Sunday morning

On Sunday at 1:49 a.m. a dense fog advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 9 a.m. for Northern Worcester and Southern Worcester as well as Franklin, Middlesex, Essex, Hampshire, Hampden, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties.

The weather service comments, “Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. Temperatures dropping to near or below freezing may result in a pockets of freezing fog and black ice.”

“Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. Black Ice may result in hazardous travel as well especially across bridges and overpasses,” says the weather service. “If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.”
