Mass. woman wins first $4 million grand prize in $10 lottery game

The first winner of a $4 million lottery prize from a $10 lottery game was a woman from Massachusetts.

Amanda Demontigny, of Hanover, won $4 million from the “$4,000,000 Bonus Money” scratch ticket game. There are still two $4 million grand prizes and seven $1 million prizes remaining to be claimed in the game as of Jan. 9.

Demontigny chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.

The Hanover woman bought her winning ticket at Richdale Food Shops, located at 181 South St. in Hingham. The store will receive a $40,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
