DENVER — The Celtics are looking to bounce back after their loss to the Thunder, and fortunately, they’ll be at full strength for the game. Nobody was listed on the Celtics’ injury report ahead of their 10 p.m. Tuesday game against the Nuggets at Ball Arena.
The lone Celtics player on the injury report ahead of the Thunder game was Jaylen Brown, who’s dealing with a right shoulder strain. But Brown was upgraded to available pregame. He revealed he had to get an MRI on the shoulder, but it looks like the C’s star is all ready to go going forward.
Kristaps Porzingis also dealt with a recent ankle sprain from Christmas Day. But the big man has played in the past two games, so he also seems to be alright.
The Celtics were at full strength against the Thunder on Sunday, but that was the first time with their full roster since late-November. So it’s a positive sign the C’s are healthy as they can now pick up their chemistry from where they left off last season.
The C’s impressed throughout the first half against the Thunder, but they stumbled afterwards, scoring just 27 points in the second half. Still, they’re 2-1 on this tough four-game road trip, which wraps up with the 2023 NBA champs in the Nuggets on Tuesday. Notably, the C’s and Nuggets played a pair of preseason games in Abu Dhabi, both Boston victories.
Considering this is a matchup of the past two NBA champions, it should be a marquee showdown in front of a nationally-televised crowd. Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic is again having an incredible season, though the Nuggets are just 20-14 due to the lack of depth. The C’s come into Tuesday’s game with a 26-10 record as they’ll look to finish with a winning road trip.
