Cumberland Farms employee sues over alleged discrimination after cancer diagnosis

SPRINGFIELD — She appeared the model employee, earning raises and two promotions in short order. But that, according to her lawsuit, was before being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Tami Ingham, 46, of Feeding Hills, sued Cumberland Farms’ parent company in Hampden Superior Court last week. Her 13-page complaint says she was rewarded by her employers with dollar-an-hour raises after she was hired as a clerk in a West Springfield store in 2022.

She began as a $16.75 per hour employee and moved up to $18.25 per hour by the following year, according to the lawsuit.
