Wouldn’t a $100,000 prize be a nice Christmas gift?
For those wanting to test their holiday luck, Massachusetts residents can still play the lottery on Christmas.
Gas stations and other retailers will be selling lottery tickets, such as Mass Cash and scratch tickets on Christmas — as long as the gas station or retailer is open.
However, those looking to claim a prize in person will have to wait. The lottery claim centers are closed on Christmas.
But that’s only for large prizes.
Prizes between $601-$5,000 can be claimed using the Mass Lottery app’s mobile cashing feature.
So far, the largest lottery prize won in Massachusetts this year was worth $1 million a year for life.
The prize was from the lottery’s “Lifetime Millions” scratch ticket game. The winner claimed their prize through a trust on July 10 and opted to receive a one-time payment of $15.4 million.
