The U.S. Men’s National Hockey team will face Sweden on Monday, Feb. 17 in Boston, MA for the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament.
The round-robin tournament is the first international event involving NHL players since the World Cup of Hockey in 2016. The first two rounds of the tournament will be at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Fans who don’t want to make the trek to Canada can see the U.S. face Sweden at the TD Garden in Boston, MA on Monday, Feb. 17. USA will kick off the tournament against Finland in Montreal, Canada on Thursday, February 13 followed by their matchup against Canada on Saturday, February 15.
The team selected for the 4 Nations Face Off includes 15 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders. The team features three Stanley Cup champions, four NHL captains and 10 alternate captains and 22 players who have previously represented the U.S. in top international competitions with a combined 47 medals, including 20 gold.
Jeremy Swayman and Charlie McAvoy were selected from the Boston Bruins. Chris Kreider and Vincent Trocheck of the New York Rangers and Brock Nelson of the rival Islanders are among the final 17 players picked by general manager Bill Guerin and USA Hockey’s remaining management.
