The 64-year-old driver of a motorcycle is seriously injured after a crash involving a tractor trailer on Route 1 Thursday, according to Rowley Police Department.
The police department said at about 5:51 a.m. the motorcycle and the tractor trailer were traveling South on Route 1 when the tractor trailer attempted to turn left onto Haverhill Street. That’s when the tractor trailer and motorcycle collided.
A 64-year-old Salisbury man, who was driving the motorcycle, was taken to a Boston hospital by a medical helicopter, Rowley Police Department said. MassDOT had previously said the crash involved a serious injury.
The driver of the tractor trailer, a 25-year-old Rowley man, did not have any injuries.
Officials did not release the names of either driver.
Officials closed lanes but they were reopened by 8:30 a.m. The crash remains under investigation by Rowley Police.
