NEW YORK — Dressed in maroon and white, more than 400 students in the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band marched down the streets of Manhattan on Thursday morning in the 98th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
They played “This will Be,” a song released in 1975 by Natalie Cole — a UMass Amherst alumna — while in the Macy’s Herald Square where cameras captured the parade and broadcasted it live to living rooms across the country.
