A Lynn man was facing multiple charges after being accused of threatening two women at a Danvers movie theater on Sunday.
Ryan Muldoon, 34, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, threats to commit a crime and disturbing the peace, according to WCVB.
Two women going to see “Wicked” on Sunday told AMC management that Muldoon was in the a theater and was making threats to them, the news outlet reported. AMC then called police.
The women said Muldoon was threatening to “shoot all of you in the head” during the previews, WCVB reported.
But in Salem District Court Monday, Muldoon’s lawyer said he was repeating rap lyrics and that he had his headphones in, NBC Boston reported.
Plus, defense attorney Heather Ramsey said he didn’t have a weapon.
“There’s no assault, and there’s no dangerous weapon,” defense attorney Heather Ramsey said, according to WCVB. “There’s an allegation of threats, but there’s no indication that they were even directed at those individuals. He didn’t approach them and sit behind them, they came and sat in front of him. There’s just not enough there to get the probable cause.”
Another hearing will be Tuesday. Muldoon will be held until then.
A 26-year-old from Martha’s Vineyard was accused of stabbing four girls at AMC’s Braintree location in May.
Jared Ravizza has been held without bail since he was arrested.
