Just because a Powerball ticket didn’t win the jackpot, doesn’t mean the buyer didn’t win a big prize.
There are multiple winning Powerball tickets that remain unclaimed in New England, including a $1 million prize.
If the winning tickets remain unclaimed, the prizes will become part of the net profit the lottery redistributes to the state’s cities and towns, the lottery said.
Powerball.net keeps a running list of all unclaimed Powerball tickets. See below for unclaimed Powerball tickets in New England:
- A $1 million prize from Connecticut has yet to be claimed. The drawing was from July 17, 2023 and the ticket was sold at Fort Hill Citgo, located at 182 Fort Hill Road in Groton. The last day to claim the prize is Jan. 13, 2024.
- A $50,000 prize from Rhode Island has yet to be claimed. It was sold at Cumberland Farms in Cranston, which is located at 659 Reservoir Ave. It was sold for the drawing on Nov. 2, 2022 and has to be claimed by Nov. 2, 2023.
- Another $50,000 prize from Rhode Island hasn’t been claimed. It was sold at Neon Market Place in Middletown, which is located at 533 East Main St. It was sold for the drawing on Dec. 3, 2022 and has to be claimed by Dec. 3, 2023.
On Monday, there was a $200,000 prize won off of a Powerball ticket sold at Sonny’s Mobil in Beverly, which is located at 453 Essex St. The Powerball jackpot increased after no jackpot winners on Monday. As of Wednesday, it is worth an estimated $1 billion.
Powerball drawings are every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Tickets to play are $2, and a player must pick five out of 69 numbers and a Powerball number between 1 and 26. Tickets that match four out of five numbers, plus the Powerball, win a $50,000 prize.
