WESTFIELD – Now that the American Legion 124 has received the paperwork for a historic restriction on its building from the state that has been accepted by the City Council and signed by Mayor Michael McCabe, the funds awarded to repair the building from the Community Preservation Committee have been released and work can begin.
In April, 2023, the CPC voted to award members of the American Legion Post 124 their full request of $600,000 to save their home located on 38 Broad St. in the Westfield Historic District.
