How city, town clerks protect the safety and security of Massachusetts’ elections

When voters go to the polls, it takes just a few minutes to fill out a ballot, feed it into the tabulator and get the all-important “I voted” sticker before leaving.

But for poll workers and election officials, Election Day lasts far longer than 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. when the polls are open.
