WESTFIELD — The Community Preservation Committee voted on Tuesday to give $150,000 to the Westfield Woman’s Club for the Centennial Restoration Project of its 100-year-old building on 28 Court Street.
The club had requested $300,000 at the CPC’s previous meeting, Oct. 10. Committee members postponed their vote so that they could ask the city’s Law Department for an opinion on whether grant funds should be restricted to exterior renovation of the building, for which the city has a historical preservation restriction.
