Boston, which was named one of the best cities for Halloween in 2024 by WalletHub, has several kid-friendly parties, festivals and events this year‘s spooky season.
You can find a list of eight family-friendly Halloween activities below:
Wicked Haunt at Hood Park in Charlestown: Wicked Haunt Fest is Boston’s first-ever, large-scale Halloween festival. The festival features — three haunted houses, an Oktoberfest-style beer garden and family-friendly fall activities. Located at Hood Park in Charlestown, Wicked Haunt Fest will run until Sunday, Nov. 3. Tickets starting at $25 can be purchased online.
Trick-or-treating and movie night at Fenway Park: Parents can take their kids trick-or-treating at Fenway Park before staying to watch “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” on Saturday, Oct. 26. Trick-or-treating will happen from 3:30 to 6 p.m., and is free and open to the public. However, you will need to buy tickets to stay and watch the movie. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Kids Halloween party, trick-or-treating in Seaport: Little Groove Music is hosting a special Halloween concert for kids from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25. The dance party is part of Seaport Smalls, Seaport’s children’s programming series that happens every Saturday from May to November at The Rocks, 111 Harbor Way. Pumpkins, crafts, sweet treats, spooky toys, face painting, balloon twisting and more will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Kids can go trick-or-treating at more than two dozen stores in the neighborhood starting after 1 p.m. Registration is free.
Glow-in-the-dark kids Halloween concert in Chestnut Hill: Kids and families are invited to The Green at The Street Chestnut Hill for “Halloweek: Glow in the Dark Concert with Vanessa and the Jumping Monkeys.” The Parents Choice Award-winning kids’ band will play music geared to children ages 2 to 8 from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25. Registration is free and can be done online.
Trick or Treat at The Street Chestnut Hill: The Street Chestnut Hill will host its Trick or Treat event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. The free event will feature special treats from local businesses, character meet n’ greets, a live DJ, live costume illustrations and more. People can register online for free.
Kids Halloween party at High Street Place: Food hall High Street Place is hosting a free kids Halloween party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. The party will feature a balloon magic show, costume parade, trick-or-treating and more. People must reserve a spot for the balloon show, which is scheduled for 11 a.m.
PruBoo at the Prudential Center: The Prudential Center’s 30th annual Halloween spectacular PruBoo will return on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free family-friendly event features trick-or-treating at more than 40 stores, face painting, pumpkin decorating, magic shows and more. Children under 12 dressed in costumes will get a free same-day ticket with an accompanying adult to View Boston. The offer is valid from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Trick-or-treating at WNDR: Adults and kids can spend Halloween trick-or-treating at WNDR, Boston’s immersive museum located in Downtown Crossing. Tickets to the museum can be purchased online. College students also get 30% off that day.
